Description

What is Yin Yoga?
Yin is a slower-paced, more meditative version style of Yoga, where postures are held for between three and five minutes.
Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice.
Initially this style of yoga can seem quite boring and passive. Yin practice can be quite challenging due to the long duration of the poses, it is crucial to focus on the breath and any thoughts that may come up.
Yin will help you obtain greater range of motion. Calmer hearts and minds and will stimulate the healing flow of energy.

All forms of exercise can be classed as yin or yang based on the tissues they target.
Yang exercises focus on muscles and blood as well as rhythm and repetition.
Yin exercises focus on connective tissue as well as gentle traction.
Yin and yang always complement each other so what ever your go to exercise is, Yin yoga will compliment it.
We will use props such as folded up blankets, bolsters and yoga blocks. This will help support you while relaxing into the poses.
The price is £10.
